Rotaract Club of Panimalar Medical College

The Rotaract Club of Panimalar Medical College was officially installed in February 2021, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey towards fostering leadership, community service, and professional development among its students. The club functions under the esteemed Rotary Club of Chennai Carnatic, and was inaugurated under the Presidency of Rtn. Vanitha Srihari .

Since its inception, the club has seen the induction of four dynamic batches of badge holders, each committed to upholding the values of Rotaract through meaningful service and leadership.

Major Projects and Initiatives

Over the years, the club has undertaken impactful projects addressing key public health and social issues:

• Menstrual Hygiene Awareness: Organized educational sessions for school-going girls to promote safe and healthy menstrual practices, aiming to dismantle stigma and empower young women.
• Breast Cancer Awareness Flash Mobs: Conducted interactive flash mobs in hospital premises to raise awareness about breast cancer among visitors and patients, combining education with performance to engage the public.
• RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards): Hosted leadership development workshops designed to equip Rotaract members with essential skills in communication, teamwork, and social responsibility.

Upcoming Projects

In line with its commitment to preventive healthcare and community outreach, the club has proposed the following initiatives:

• Anaemia Screening for School Children: To identify and address iron deficiency in school-aged children, contributing to improved academic performance and overall well-being.
• Cervical Cancer Screening: Targeting women of reproductive age, especially those attending rural health centers, this project aims to promote early detection and timely referral for cervical cancer.

The Rotaract Club of Panimalar Medical College continues to grow as a vibrant and proactive student-led organization, dedicated to service above self, leadership development, and building a healthier and more informed society.
